Photography is a tool , to express thoughts and feelings of a slice of time – that is what Photography is for me . It makes you aware of an abstract world beyond what we see. Recollecting a line shared by my dear Guru Late. Prabhakar Kusuma Sir – Photography is like writing a poem with light but first you start with alphabets, then words then a sentence and later evolve into poems, thus how my journey goes.

My journey with photography began with a quiet spark—my father’s Kodak Box camera. What seemed ordinary at first quickly became a source of fascination. I experimented endlessly, setting up a darkroom, mixing chemicals, and developing prints by hand. Watching images come to life felt magical, transforming a simple hobby into a lasting passion.
Over time, I devoted myself to refining my craft, driven by a deep love for visual storytelling. I’m especially passionate about capturing the beauty of nature, the spirit of travel, and the emotion within portraits. Each photograph is an opportunity to freeze a fleeting moment and give it lasting life.

This passion and persistence have been recognized through several distinctions, including FFIP (Fellow of the Federation of Indian Photography), AICS (Associate of Image Colleague Society, USA), and EFIAP (Excellence of the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique, France)—milestones that continue to inspire me to explore, create, and see the world through my lens.

I am a hobby photographer with keen interest in Nature and Wildlife photography.
Started my journey in photography in 2006. Participated many national and International salons.

Achieved ARPS (Associate of Royal Photographic Society) London in 2013 and EFIAP (Excellence Federation Internationale DEL’Art Photographique. FRANCE) in 2014.
I am the first photographer in both Telugu States, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to achieve distinctions of ARPS & EFIAP in Nature.

I was twice the winner photography competitions conducted by Information & Public relations Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on occasion of World Photography Day in 2007 and 2010.

I was winner of 2nd Prize in Bio Diversity Photo contest conducted on occasion of UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), also known as COP11, which was held in Hyderabad in 2012.

I began my journey in photography 50 years ago, when my father placed a 120mm Voigtländer camera in my hands. What started as curiosity soon became a lifelong engagement with the craft.

My early years with film taught me discipline and patience, where every frame mattered. That foundation continues to shape my approach today.

While I built a career in marketing and later as a Recruitment Consultant, my interest in people remained constant. This naturally reflects in my photography as well.

With the digital era, I reconnected more actively with photography. I currently use a Fujifilm system and regularly participate in photo walks, which I find valuable for learning and engaging with fellow photographers.

I do not limit myself to a single genre. Street photography, wildlife and landscapes are areas I frequently explore. My approach is simple: subject first, followed by composition and exposure. I also believe that a photograph is best complemented by a meaningful caption.

Even after five decades, I continue to learn and remain a student of light.

My entry into photography was as surprising as it was to find a lost school days friend. That friend introduced me to the Film SLR camera and convinced me to purchase a Film SLR camera that too from a Russian brand Zenit. The journey of photography started with a long learning curve coupled with books and photography magazines to hone the skills. The film helped me to inculcate a strict discipline in exposure, composition and other technicalities. Then came the digital age which revolutionized the photography. After a few years in waiting, I owned a Crop sensor DSLR. Again after many years moved from crop sensor to Full-frame sensor DSLR. Being naturally inclined to the field of fine art, my choice of genre was nature / landscapes. I love traveling and exploring new places, but due to my work profile and other commitments, it becomes challenging to continuously keep shooting throughout the year. With this challenge, my journey into the field of photography continues.

Travel and Photography are my twin passions and I had the opportunity to travel extensively across India, Europe, the US, the UK and South-East with my Camera, capturing the little nuances of life. My genres vary from Nature, Travel, Architecture and Street Photography while my professional career spanned across BFSI, IT, ITES, Pharma and Semi-conductor Industries.
Though I feel Academically strong being a double Post graduate with a dozen Globally recognized Certifications in Information Security, I wish to round it off with a distinction in Photography, as well!
I have curated my maiden Solo Photo Exhibition at the State gallery of Art, Hyderabad in 2016 and my Photographic work was also exhibited pan India at Chennai, Mumbai, Nasik, Pune and Hyderabad during the Indian Photography Festival, Hyderabad Literary Festival, Goethe Zentrum, Ameerpet Metro Station, Our Sacred spaces, Society to save rocks, Phoenix Arena, Numaish, Lamakaan, LaCONES, ICONART, CCRT, MPS and TPS.
My photographs were published in Newspapers, Society’s Newsletters and Corporate magazines and I have won awards and Recognitions from Telangana Tourism, Uttarakhand Tourism, TOI, Wiki and Photography clubs.
“Though Rocks do not have life, they support life system. So, save them!”
I embraced this unique genre of ‘Rock Art Photography’ due to my passion and always go an extra mile to identify these amazing rocks and show them in aesthetic forms. Hitherto, I have visited more than 60 Rock sites globally and this body of work is being created over a decade and is an ongoing project as my tryst with them continues. It is through this artistic medium I infuse life into the subjects by their forms and create an awareness and sensitize people to preserve them, through the display of my photographs and talks at various exhibitions.
I was recognized for ‘Rock Art Photography’ and entered into the ‘Legend Book of Records’ in 2016 and was conferred with the title “Rockman of the Deccan”.
Whatever is available by way of the subject, light and the equipment on hand, I would like to shoot that instant as I am aware that the moment does not recur. Most of all, the timing is important, either to capture the expression or the event and that is my ‘Prime Focus’!

As my career as an IT professional grew more demanding, my camera became more than just a hobby; it became a sanctuary. My love for nature eventually intertwined with my photography, specifically blossoming into a deep affinity for my feathered friends. This passion for birding has driven me to explore the patience and precision required for bird photography, alongside my interests in misty landscapes, seascapes, and other genres. Immersed in nature with my camera in hand, the noise of a hectic professional life fades away, acting as a vital stress-buster and a creative reset.

For me, photography is a lifelong pursuit of turning today’s moments into tomorrow’s most cherished memories. Whether I am capturing a peacock in full display or documenting my daughter Vihana’s own growing curiosity with the camera, I see every frame as a step toward mastering this art form.

Beyond a personal creative outlet, I hope and want my photos to act as a tool for conservation. By documenting and sharing the beauty of birds and the natural world, I aim to foster an awareness of the often-ignored life around us.”

“ESWAR KUMAR RAYAPROLU is an amateur photographer whose main areas of interest are Landscape, Bird and Wildlife Photography.

He is self taught and draws inspiration from many senior members of TPS of which he is a Life Member. He has participated in many national and international salons and is the recipient of the AFIAP Honours from France.

His images have won numerous acceptances and awards including some gold medals. He has participated in major exhibitions including at the Telangana State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad.

Love for Nature and travel have given him ample opportunities to visit places away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Be it the biting cold and extreme altitude of the Himalayan mountains or the oppressive heat of the Indian deserts or the lush forests in search of wildlife every venture has provided him novel experiences and newer opportunities to live life to the fullest and meet people from a different culture, language and way of life.
