Krishnan Kalpat

Krishnan Kalpat started his photography journey at a young age of 15 Years. He was deeply inspired by his uncle, Natarajan Kalpat AFIAP, an ardent bird photographer and a member of APPS at that time. This early influence nurtured his passion for nature and visual storytelling.
During his college years, Krishnan was the University Secretary of the Photographic Club and gained extensive hands-on experience in film photography that included darkroom techniques like film developing and photo printing, building a strong technical foundation in the craft.
After finishing his Masters degree in Applied Electronics in 1978, he began his professional career with an initial three-year stint in R&D at ITI, Bengaluru, where he developed thick and thin film circuits for satellite applications. He later served in the Flight Simulators Training Division of Air India for more than 30 years.
After retirement, he actively pursued photography and joined the Telangana Photographic Society (TPS) in 2015. He is currently the Secretary of TPS.
His photographic interests include travel, wildlife, portraits, macro, and nature photography. Several of his photographs have been featured on National Geographic’s Your Shot platform. He holds the prestigious EFIAP and EFIP distinctions and continues to pursue photography with enduring enthusiasm.
