The Telangana Photographic Society (TPS) launched its inaugural awards at its World Photography Day celebration and annual dinner at CCRT, Hyderabad, recognising five individuals and institutions for their contributions to photography, education, conservation and the wider photographic community.

Around 150 photographers, senior members, industry representatives and guests attended the programme, which began with the traditional lighting of the lamp in the presence of composer and filmmaker R.P. Patnaik and representatives of the photography industry.
